Enem Express Limited, the 2nd company in the group, began it’s journey with the start of the readymade garments manufacturing and export business of the country.

All major importers and buyers at the time including K-Mart, Walmart, Thomas Cox Associates, Graham Burgess Associates, Banaras House, Epic Designers, Interocean , Mirage International and many others camped at our premises as their local office.

Pioneering factories – Bond Garments, Aristocrat Garments, York Garments, Smart Garments – all used our services for the Customs clearance services for their fabrics & accessories and international forwarding and shipping services for the exports of their products. Importers began to nominate us exclusively as their logistics service provider in Bangladesh.

The above are among our many accomplishments as logistics pioneers in Bangladesh which we continue till date.



WAREHOUSING

Demand created from readymade exports had us lease warehousing space of over 100,000 sq. ft.,at Strand Road Chittagong for the storage of imported and consolidation of exportable garments before transporting these to factories at Dhaka.

We leased smaller premises at Dhaka for the receipt and storage of readymade garments before cosolidating the same for trucking to Chittagong.

We leased bonded covered space within Chittagong port and Dhaka Inland Container Depot for consolidation and breakbulk of imported & exportable containerized goods.


COVERED VANS/TRUCKING UNIT

Enem Express Limited invested in 26 MITSUBISHI FK2 AND TATA trucks introducing for the first time the concept of covered vans in Bangladesh. Many will recall these covered trucks with their fire-engine red colour covered and bold white/black lettering providing yeoman services to the fledgling readymade garments industry.


AIRFREIGHT

In addition to ocean exports, customers were demanding that we offer airfreight services for their exports to USA, Europe etc. Airfreight services were offered with the start of our Dhaka offices.


COURIER

Responding to demand, EMERY COURIER USA appointed us a Bangladesh partners and we started offering courier services for mainly for bank & shipping documents and export samples small parcels, as the 1st courier company in Bangladesh. Enem pioneered the courier business from and to Bangladesh.

IATA APPROVAL as Ist agency in Bangladesh 1980

Enem Express Limited created history by being approved as the 1st IATA cargo agency in Bangladesh in 1980 holding stocks of all on-line and off-line airlines operating to Bangladesh – Air India, British Airways, Indian Airlines, KLM, Kuwait Airways, Lufthansa, Saudia, Singapore Airlines, Thai International,

We received Bangladesh Biman approval as their 1st and only cargo agency simultaneously holding AWB stock.

We continue to receive top Bangladesh cargo agency awards from all airlines from 1980 until now.

In 1989, we received the SAUDIA GLOBAL BEST AGENCY AWARD from H.E., the Minister for Civil Aviation at Riyadh.


FIATA

Enem Express Ltd, approved as the 1st FIATA member company for Bangladesh in 1980.
Among many other firsts – we issued the 1st House Bill of Lading, House AIrwayBill, Consolidation and Breakbulk documentation, 1st NVOCC carrier, and 1st freight insurance policy etc.
Enem issued the 1st bank negotiable FCR (Forwarders Certificate of Receipt) as partners of Fritz USA – among the largest freight companies then.
Enem was the 1st Customs licensed packing and household & industrial goods removals company in the country. Leading packing & removals companies of the time used our licenced services for the Customs clearance of their customers imports and exports.

ENEM DISTRIBUTION

A new country, new demands – Enem’s distribution program came into full force with our appointment as sole distributor of health products for the USAID funded FPIA project. Our services included customs clearing, warehousing and distribution of over 50,000 tons of xommodities to over 800 addresses throughout Bangladesh using trucks, pick-ups, baby taxis, rickshaws and foot by over 50 staff.

Enem Express Limited was appointed ship handling and general agent for Chittagong & Mongla ports by NG Shipping Singapore – the leading feeder operator between Singapore & Chittagong
